FREEWAY & JAKE ONE
Gern verschließt die Szene Augen und Ohren vor einer tatsächlich möglichen Homogenisierung der ach so strikten Trennung zwischen Underground und Mainstream. Es gibt sie aber. Eine Kollaboration ist die, welche die ehemalige Roc-A-Fella-Reibeisenstimme Freeway und den G-Unit-Produzenten Jake One im Titel vereint.
Beide wandern seit jeher zwischen den Welten der Genre-Konventionen. Freeway steht schon immer mit einem Fuß in den Charts und mit dem anderen auf der Straße. Jake One hangelt sich überraschend sicher seit einigen Jahren zwischen Neunziger-geprägter BoomBap-Mentalität und kommerzialisierter G-Unit-Narrative entlang.
Gemeinsam frönen sie jetzt einer entgrenzten Hip Hop-Definition und wollen dabei auf "The Stimulus Package" dem Genre nicht viel weniger als die nötige Spritze geben, um wieder auf die Beine zu kommen. Um es vorweg zu nehmen: Die Operation ist gut verlaufen, der Patient befindet sich weiterhin im Koma.
Natürlich können Jake & Free nicht das Schicksal eines gesamten Genres zum Guten wenden. Was sich aber hier auf 55 Minuten Rap-technisch durch die Boxen schleicht, muss keinerlei Vergleichen - weder auf Untergrund- noch auf Mainstream-Ebene - scheuen.
"The Stimulus Package" birgt kondensierte Rap-Tradition aus den Händen eines überdurchschnittlich talentierten und immens interessanten Rappers und eines musikalisch begabten und hörbar fokussierten Produzenten. Qualitätsware für alle, die Hip Hop für seine Energie, Intensität und simplifizierte Musikalität schätzen.
Im Großen und Ganzen entzieht Jake One aber Freeway einer kommerziell-orientierten Basis, die ihm in der Vergangenheit des Öfteren krumm genommen wurde. Zurück zu "1-900 Hustler", zurück zu glorreichen State Property-Tagen als der Philly Freezer auf Major-Alben der Roc-A-Fella-Dynasty von den rauhen Straßen des Inner City Ghettos erzählte.

David Anthony Love, Jr (born February 7, 1970), also known by his stage name Kid Capri, is an American musician.
He was born in the Bronx, New York City, New York, USA. He is the son of David Love Sr., a Musician/Singer.
In the 1970s, Kid Capri began to attend block parties, starting his DJ career at the age of 8. He eventually garnered widespread attention at Studio 54 and began selling his sets with his partner at the time Starchild. Kid Capri has deejayed for seven seasons of Def Comedy Jam. He's also produced tracks for Boogie Down Productions, Heavy D, Big L, Grand Puba, and Quincy Jones. He eventually released an LP on Warner Brothers Records titled The Tape in 1991. He appeared in the 1993 movie Who's the Man? alongside Doctor Dre, Colin Quinn, KRS-One, Ice-T, Pete Rock, CL Smooth, Eric B, Flavor Flav, Kris Kross, Melle Mel, Busta Rhymes and many others. In 1997, Kid Capri switched from Warner Brothers to Trackmasters after he appeared on the 1997 Puff Daddy And The Family World Tour. He has subsequently released Soundtrack to the Streets in 1998.
Recently Kid Capri has been busy working with his very own label, 'No Kid'n Records'. Also, he was featured on a show called The Breakdown on itshiphop.tv where he talked about his current and future projects, his views on Japan's hip hop scene, and the origin of his DJ Name. On July 29, 2007, Kid Capri made a special appearance during Rock The Bells 2007 as Rakim's DJ. Kid Capri also made a special appearance as Rakim's DJ during the Rock The Bells 2008 show on July 19, 2008 in Tinley Park, Illinois. Kid Capri is also a legendary DJ member of the The worldwide DJ organization, The Core DJ's

Der Sommer ist endlich da, die WM auch, dazu eine Party die seines gleichen sucht. Hip Hop auf dem Mainfloor mit Desue, Dister, Ghanaian Stallion und Danetic und auf dem anderen Floor gibts Elektro von Murian Benz und Thabo Getsome. Pünktlich zur WM ist auch das Public Viewing vor dem Club eröffnet, hier gibt Gegrilltes, Getränke, Sofas, Leinwände aber auch alte Röhrenfernseher von Dazumal.Wir laden euch also ein mit uns die Spiele vor der Party direkt vorm Club zu gucken und dann direkt weiterzufeiern.... Und natürlich wieder ohne Kommerz, aber mit Toleranz. BLeNDED und cool.
